Adhesive
1. Connector component rupture:
(1) If the adhesive is applied unevenly—thick in some areas and thin in others—it will result in uneven pressure and air entrapment during the lamination process. In such cases, when using a thickness gauge to adjust the adhesive thickness around and in the middle of the glue tank, it’s essential to ensure consistency throughout.
(2) Adhesive The glue is wet. Since the glue consists of resin and solvent, the adhesive strength cannot reach its optimal level as long as the solvent has not fully evaporated. Moreover, the solvent in the glue does not evaporate even after bonding is complete; therefore, the bonded surface remains perpetually “soaked,” inevitably resulting in poor adhesion. For this reason, it is necessary to adjust the roller temperature and roller speed.
(3) The amount of adhesive used is insufficient. Different materials have different standard requirements for adhesive application. For materials with fine and smooth surfaces, the amount of adhesive can be reduced. However, for materials with fine pores, large pores, or a loose structure, the adhesive must be applied more thickly to achieve optimal results.
2. Some materials tend to curl up after the adhesive is removed. For different materials, Shanghai Chenxiang Industrial uses various adhesives—some require a softer adhesive, while others call for a thinner one. This also serves as a test for the machine operators on-site.
3. Air entrapment entirely caused by operational factors may be due to upper-layer adhesive, uneven pressure application, and the inherently non-uniform surface of the material itself.

Spray glue
1. The adhesive spray is not easy to apply. Due to climate influences, the adhesive becomes more viscous in autumn and winter, resulting in poor spraying performance. In such cases, we can use a special thinner to dilute it to an appropriate viscosity before continuing with the operation.
2. Spray glue The glue is difficult to dry, and the temperature is quite low. Some customers dilute our glue with the thinner provided by our glue company. During the spraying process, the air pressure and flow rate of the spray gun are not properly controlled. The spray gun should be used to apply the glue in a dotted pattern, and the coating should not be too thick. Keep the spray gun 50–90 centimeters away from the surface being coated, at a 45-degree angle, and ensure even coverage.
3. When making the sofa, the sponge feels fine during the initial installation stage; however, once the leather cover is placed on, the sponge starts to lose adhesion—a problem that’s closely related to previous handling procedures. Generally speaking, compared to tension maintained for two days or even longer, the adhesive strength of the spray glue produced by Shanghai Chenxiang Industrial is remarkably low. Please adjust your operating procedures according to standard practices.
