1. Adhesives, also known as bonding agents or adhesives, are chemical substances that firmly join two or more surface-treated adhesive materials together and possess a certain degree of mechanical strength. Examples include epoxy resins, cuprous oxide phosphate, and white latex.

2. Solid Materials (Base Materials): These determine the primary physicochemical and mechanical properties of the adhesive joint. Examples include epoxy resins and phenolic resins.

3. Hardener:

a) Curing: The process by which a liquid adhesive is transformed into a solid state through physicochemical methods. Physical methods include solvent evaporation, emulsion coagulation, and cooling of molten materials; chemical methods involve the polymerization of the adhesive into high-molecular-weight substances.

b) Curing agent: A chemical substance used in the curing process.

4. Curing accelerator: A chemical substance that speeds up the curing reaction and shortens the reaction time; also known as a catalyst.

5. Toughening agents: These can enhance the toughness of adhesive cured products, and primarily include esters and elastic compounds.

6. Filler: Can enhance the mechanical strength of the joint.

7. Other auxiliary materials: colorants, solvents (diluents), antioxidants, and coupling agents, etc.
